There have been more punches thrown recently in the Internet powerhouse battle betwee
Facebook and Google. The latest is the fact that Facebook has removed all parts of Gmail service from Google from their feature that helps you find friends on Facebook. This is called a retaliatory move by Facebook, since Google's Gmail service denied access to its clients to Facebook.

The latest move by Facebook means that its users can't access Gmail contacts on the Facebook site. If you attempt to do this, through the new Facebook message system, you'll get an error message. Facebook has also removed all types of Gmail importing functionalities from its service called Friend Feed. This information comes from TechCrunch.com.

This quick strike shows that Facebook and Google have animosity brewing towards each other that is not going to slow down anytime soon. The CEO of Google has refused to make any comments about the Facebook message service that combines email, text messaging and chat. Google has failed in their efforts at social-networking and other ventures, which shows that they are very affected by the quick thinking of Facebook. Google has been attempting to make changes that would make their sites work like Facebook does, but they simply don't have the ideology or personnel to create or sustain it.

It's not easy for other Internet giants like Google to stomach, but Facebook has been changing the Internet at a rapid pace. Regardless of the things Google does to try to distract Internet users, it seems to only build the image of Facebook. The best that Google can do now is to enhance the parts of the company that are already successful. They should work on solving issues of privacy of Street View, and on keeping their personnel focused on their work, rather than on jumping ship to Facebook.

The battle for Internet supremacy is not over, and it seems to be getting nastier by the day. We haven't heard the end of this war. But how many more blows can be made by Google? They are currently engaged in a fight that seems to be resulting in losses for them and gains for Facebook, in the eyes of the Internet users. Only time will tell if Google can adapt to become as relevant as Facebook already is, in the Internet battle that is occurring right now, and in the future battles that the Internet giants are bound to face, against each other.
