Facebook Photos of activity: improvement of the relationship of the fan
Written by James Blunt
For many small businesses to share photos of products and services they sell and / or develop plays an important role in building and solidifying their fan base, existing and potential customers on Facebook.
Some companies are particularly well suited to take advantage of this opportunity. For example, real estate agents, hairdressers, beauticians, travel, pet stores and veterinarians, grocery stores, photographers, bakeries, shops, sporting goods, environmental organizations, art studios, cafes and restaurants, home renovators, electricians , shops, museums - the list goes on.
Any business that is capable of capturing visual images (photographs, drawings, etc.) that relate to what you can use these images in your favor on Facebook. In essence, to tell his story with an image rather than a thousand words.
The images are more likely to catch our attention and create an emotional response. Words can do the same people, once they have deepened in reading writing, and assuming it is interesting to them. The challenge is to get people's attention so that we can stand out from the crowd, so we take a second look as a product or service provider. A visual image can help do this.
In late August made it possible for Facebook users to add photos larger (720 pixels to 960 pixels) that loads twice as fast to their posts. Photos are displayed in a higher resolution as well. (You can use images that are not photos when saving to a format compatible for Facebook).
Press releases Facebook said the changes provide a picture viewer "leaner which has a cleaner interface that makes it even easier to enjoy your photos. The light box is on a white background and simple, which makes more focus on the photo, and least in the context of the surroundings. "
While a photo is a great addition of three or more can be even better! Consider real estate agents, bakeries, art workshops or pet stores, for example. Can you imagine how one or a group of three photographs can make a difference in their posts on Facebook? Fresh bakery products on the screen with a coating of a special envelope cakes and cinnamon buns? A new real estate listing with a few pictures of the house and a line or two detailing their characteristics? Cute puppy pictures with information about a special preparation or food supplies for pets?
Interestingly, the written information can or can not get someone's attention, but adding pictures to the mix and the likelihood that consciously "be seen" going up exponentially. A picture is worth a thousand words. (A recent blog of Joe Pelizzi a Skyword new research found that business-oriented web pages with images performed 91% better than pages without images.)
By posting three (or more) photos to Facebook, a picture appears larger and more prominent, and two smaller photos are on the right of the big picture. The smaller photos are about a quarter the size of the larger picture. The impact of visual media such imaging may well be very important.
The purpose of the images not only capture the attention of someone for a second, but to catch it in a way that consciously look at what you've posted - like any other interesting information that goes along with the photo. Essentially, when you do this, it increases the possibility of fan participation with your brand.
Depending on the business, a bakery shop or fine art images alone may be sufficient to create an awareness and an emotional response to their fans. Ideally, initially, to participate in such a way that they like, comment or share the message so that it is then seen by his friends. Long-tern, so that the initial commitment on the results of time become advocates of the brand and its fans.
Personally, when I find a company or person whose positions are more often than not it interesting, I'll start to "look" in his image, without realizing it, to analyze my news feed.
This last point highlights the need to ensure the image 'thumbnail' of Facebook is different enough that when viewed in the news channel fans and friends that is recognizable and distinct.
