Laser skin resurfacing treatments are carried out under a local anesthesia, facial rejuvenation, stimulates new collagen growth, remove shallow scars and fine wrinkles and reduce wrinkles. Can be combined with liposuction laser treatments, such as when excess fat is removed from the chin and jaw area, the skin may be saggy and wrinkled after the removal of fat. Lasers can help smooth and tighten skin, to give more meaning after liposuction treatment of the jaw line.
Skin lasers burn away the outer layer of skin to reveal younger looking skin. The laser also heats the skin and stimulate new collagen growth in the deeper layers. Lasers can be used in specific areas of the face or full face. Facial treatments can cause skin pigmentation changes, and is usually not recommended for people with dark skin.
As we age, repetitive facial muscle movements should contribute to facial lines and wrinkles. Other factors such as exposure to sun, diet, smoking can affect how our skin will age. Laser skin treatments can be used to remove acne scars, birth marks, fine lines and uneven skin pigmentation.
Laser facial procedures are done under local anesthesia, so you are awake during the procedure, and may soon return home after the laser treatment. Your eyes will be protected by a special goggles. After treatment process may be some discomfort and you will need to take an analgesic to relieve pain. This can take up to two weeks for skin to heal, and you may experience skin redness lasts for up to 6 months. You will need to protect your skin from the sun and wear sun protection 12 months after treatment.
Laser skin resurfacing is a big step forward with the introduction last year of "fractionated" technology. Fractionated lasers are just a narrow laser beam and spot size to treat smaller areas of skin with each laser pulse. These lasers typically use a model generator to quickly create many of these small pulses to the skin, leaving small gaps between or rough spots. It is these small shortcomings, as well as a random pattern down the pulse, which allows more cooling of the skin and less damage to surrounding tissue. This reduces the healing time, and after a patient, as well as reduce their exposure risk factors, such as scarring, discoloration, infection, etc.
Fractionated laser technology behind Fraxel, Lumenis also Utlrapulse. The two companies now offer fractionated CO2 (carbon dioxide) lasers. CO2 historically the most dramatic changes in skin resurfacing laser, but was always longer healing time and potential hypopigmentation (light color) deficiency.
Our practice performs fractionated laser skin resurfacing with the Lumenis laser Ultrapulse, also known as the Active FX. Active FX treatment usually associated with the treatment the number of pulses from 1 to 4 and the pulse rate from 100 to 300 milihertz. Anything above that is becoming increasingly "Max FX treatment. Patients usually recover in 3 to 7 days from the Active FX treatment and one to two weeks after Max FX.
Active FX Laser skin resurfacing improves skin tone and texture and light to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Patients are often seen around the lower face the most dramatic changes.
There should be one laser facial skin treatment slightly improved, but repeated treatment may be required to achieve the desired results. You should discuss your expectations with your therapist before treatment, and ask how much the treatment will be needed.
Lasers can cause skin blisters or burns, which can lead to mild scarring and skin discoloration. "When skin lasers are used around the eyes, some people may experience temporary swelling of the eyelids.
