Are you ready to lose weight for good? Perhaps you've had a wake up call - a health scare - or been humiliated by your size for the last time. Get ready to kiss fat good-bye. If you're overweight, you know that it's easy to lose weight - after all, you've been on many diets, and you do manage to lose pounds each time. The only trouble is that you put those pounds back on again afterwards, and often many more pounds than you started out with. Here are three steps to getting the weight off, and most importantly, keeping it off. 1. Write Down Everything That Goes Into Your Mouth Every DaynnWe all get into habits, especially around food. A habit is something you've done so often that you're completely unconscious of it. Buy a nice notebook, with a hard cover. This is your weight loss journal. It will help you to lose weight, because you're going to record everything you eat and drink, every day. Yes, that's everything - even the taste you had of your partner's dessert when you went out to eat. Permanent weight loss starts when you make unconscious behavior conscious. Studies have shown that people who keep a weight loss journal succeed at their diets. Remember, you're not "dieting" you're just writing down everything you eat, and the time and place you ate it. 2. Measure Your Chest and WaistlinennUsing your weight loss journal, pick a day of the month to become your "measurement day." It could be the first day of the month, or the last day - or any day you choose. On this day, each month, you'll record your chest and waist measurement. Remember, you're not doing anything about this interesting information. Look on it as a study. Just write down the measurements each month. Before you know it, you'll start shrinking... just because you're measuring. 3. Save up for a New WardrobennAs you lose weight, you'll need new clothes. Here's your chance to look the way you've always wanted. Put aside a little money from each paycheck for your clothing fund. This needn't be a large amount; you're saving the money for the psychological boost, and sense of control, it gives you. Follow the three steps above. Before you know it, you'll be slim and slender - for good. How long your weight loss will take depends on your body and metabolism. To maintain your weight loss, just keep following the three steps - they're easy, and they work. n
