Deer Park

Around 25-km from Gyalsing, Phurchachu springs are famous for its medicinal properties. The water of the springs has the curative power to deal with the skin diseases. The springs are also considered sacred as one of the four holy caves lies here. Called as the 'Kadosangphu' or 'Cave of the occult fairies', the cave lies on the south of the four cardinal points.

Labrang Monastery

Lies one km away from Phodong, the monastery was built around 1000 years later. It belongs with the Nyingmapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism like the Pemayangtse monastery in West Sikkim. The name simply translates as the dwelling place of the Lamas (monks).

Kechopari Lake

This is a clear water lake, which holds tourists' attention. Kechopari Lake means the wishing lake. Enveloped by mountains with dense forests all around, the lake grabs the attention of tourists visiting Gangtok. The lake is so crystal clear that you can not see even a leaf floating over it.

The Ridge

It is a small stretch of plain, located just five minutes walk from the main market. It has the white hall on one side whereas a beautifully designed palace gate adorns its other side.
