Hair Loss can be Due to Certain Medications You will experience premature hair loss if you are taking certain types of drugs. However, your hair will grow back as soon as you stop taking these types of medications. For instance, you can experience varying degrees of hair loss if you are under chemotherapy or taking blood thinners. Hair loss can also occur due to stress, pregnancy and childbirth and hormonal imbalance. Treatment Options to Stop Hair Loss
  • Prescription Drugs – You can stop hair loss through the use of any of the two prescriptions drugs approved by FDA. These are Rogaine and Propecia. Rogaine is a type of topical steroid which is applied directly to the scalp. Only about 10 to 14 percent obtain optimal results. However, it is 90% effective when used to slow down the loss of hair. On the other hand, Propecia is the only pill approved as treatment for male pattern baldness.
  • Alte ative Treatment Options – There are alte ative treatment options for hair loss that are now available over the counter and online. You can find several of these natural alte atives with proven efficacy and safety profile.
