Inflammation has become a serious health issue in recent years, with more and more people suffering from its debilitating effects. Aches and pains, arthritis, rheumatism, anxiety and emotional disorders are just some of the negative effects that inflammation can have on our bodies and minds.

What is often overlooked is that inflammation itself is not a disease. It is a symptom of an underlying biochemical imbalance between omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. It is this imbalance that can lead to inflammation, which can in turn cause high triglycerides, heart disease and lower cognitive function.

Of these omega 3 fatty acids, the most important ones are DHA and EPA. These two substances, which are also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids, can greatly reduce inflammation in the body, which is actually caused by the presence of an excess of omega 6 fatty acids and by their metabolites in the body.

The reason for this is simple: Thousands of years ago, the ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 was much, much higher. Our ancestors used to eat a diet very high in fresh fish, such as salmon, swordfish and mackerel. These varieties of fish contain a lot of fat and therefore a lot of DHA and EPA. This allowed them to have a natural, healthy balance between omega 3 and omega 6 in their bodies.

Today, this balance has become upset, and the cause of this imbalance is the modern diet, high in seed oils, fried foods, junk foods, etc...

The best, easiest, most effective and cheapest way to redress the balance of omega fats in our bodies is to take a concentrated fish oil supplement high in DHA and EPA every single day. There are many such fish oil supplements on the market and care must be taken when choosing which one to buy. Many of them are of low quality and contain high levels of mercury and other toxic substances.

In order to do the best for your own health, you ought to make sure you buy a molecularly distilled fish oil made from fish sourced in the cleanest oceans in the world, thereby assuring that the product will be clean.

I personally used to suffer from significant amounts of inflammation. Now, after taking a top-quality fish oil every day for many months, I hardly ever get the flare-ups of inflammation that I used to get. As a matter of fact, I'm typing many more pages tha
I have since school and having no negative effects. I believe that concentrated fish oil is one of the best investments that one can make in one's health.
