Acne can be embarrassing.

But what many people do not know is that Omega-3 in fish oil might be an effective in reducing acne. In order to understand how the proper fish oil dosage is a feasible acne treatment, you have to look at the underlying causes of acne breakouts.

Causes of Acne -

In some cases, acne is genetic and thus difficult to fight. Many suffer acne breakouts as a response to dietary imbalances, and many more acne breakouts are a combination of genetics and poor diet. Exertion and hygienic issues may also contribute to acne breakouts, and thus it is difficult to suggest that fish oil acne treatments are entirely effective against all forms of acne.

Regardless of the reasons for acne breakouts, the underlying chemical components need to be present in order for an acne breakout to begin. This may or may not necessarily include foreign contaminants that enter through pores in the skin. It is worth noting that not all foreign contaminants that enter through the pores cause inflammation, and but it is the actual immune system response that causes the telltale acne breakout to become visual.

How fish oil can help acne -

Fish oils have proven effective as anti-inflammatory agents while simultaneously helping the body bolster its immune system efficacy. The result can be a visual reduction in acne in terms of quantity as well as severity.

Dietary factors and acne -

Dietary factors may also be partially mitigated by fish oil acne treatments, which further increase the efficacy of fish oil as an acne treatment. Proper diet, exercise, and hygiene are still important for anyone attempting to reduce the number of acne breakouts they experience.

Here are a few tips to manage acne:

1. Take a pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplement every day
2. Reduce or eliminate dairy (switch to skim milk)
3. Reduce or eliminate fried foods
4. Reduce or eliminate vegetable oils like corn oil, soy oil and Canola oil
5. Use a benzoyl peroxide or Proactive type product

Unfortunately, fish oil cannot necessarily mitigate genetic factors that cause acne. Fortunately, genetic factors still need triggers in most cases, and many of those triggers can be prevented with fish oil capsules or gel caps. In some cases, fish oil will prove to be a total acne treatment system, but in most cases it is likely that multiple acne treatment systems will be required to work together.
