Here are five books that challenge conventional thinking and are worth reading.

My Experiences Preceding 5000 Burials by Hamid Bey. - The life and education of Hamid Bey. Published by The Coptic Fellowship of America.

Plan B 3.0 - Lester Brown of Earth Policy Institute has written THE blueprint on how to mobilize to save civilization. He is also lead author for the State of the World book series.

RAPID Evolution, by Alexia Parks - A training manual for rapid self-evolution. It begins with seven words that will change your life for ever, and challenge you to evolve. rapidevolution.org

Merle's Door: Lessons from a Freethinking dog, by Ted Kerasote. Called the "best book" ever written about dogs. I agree. The author reminds that a dog door is the best dog trainer for a bored, restless dog.

An American GULAG, Secret P.O.W. Camps for Teens. By Alexia Parks. I won a Teen Hero award for this book. It describes an underworld of secret, parent-funded, "snakepit schools" for unruly teens. When parents wrote to ask me: "What do you do with an out-of-control teen?" I suggested that parents learn how to mentor their own children. This resulted in a series of books on parent-mentoring, including 10 Golden Rules That Guide Loving Families ... and a national mentor training program for parents and for schools.

Have you read any of these?
