Five Magic Steps to Achieving Your Goals
Written by Roy McDonald
There are five magic steps which you must follow to link your goals, intention, and purpose, with the power to realise them. That power lives within you and through alignment you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
1. Know Exactly Where you are Right Now.
That is, where you are financially? To achieve this, you will have to do a realistic bottom-line statement: this is what I have in cash/assets; this is what I owe; this is how much my income is.
This is an essential process, and most people think they can skip this point and not worry about it.
You must take an inventory of your values and your internal strengths and weaknesses. You must increase your strengths and manage your weaknesses. You must gather around you people who can take care of the things that you are not so good at—a coach or mentor or accountant—whoever it is you need to have around you to have you be successful.
2. You Must Focus Upon a Specific Intention.
Intentions are very much a step up from goals as goals are often fuelled by fear.
People tend to do things based on fear, but with intention you do things based on careful consideration, and there is a sense of purpose about what you are up to. So with clear intentions, clear goals and plans follow.
3. You Must Have a Specific Game Plan to Deliver Your Intentions.
This is a step-by-step process. For instance, you could have an intention to be a millionaire in seven years. Your specific game plan will give you a program where you spend six hours a week for the next six months learning and studying through seminars, workshops, books etc. on basic investment knowledge. Use that knowledge to acquire property/equities/fixed interest securities over the next six months and to increase your income streams by adding a new income stream each year. Intend having your own business fully operational within two years and having more than six months worth of cash available to handle any possible shortfalls. Increase your income by 20 per cent so that it doubles every 3.6 years, be strategic in your spending, manage your portfolio actively to realise a minimum yield of 15 per cent and be tax effective with all investments and personal income.
4. Use Vision and Your Creative Spirit Through Your Imagination to Create Ideas and to Design Your Life.
Most people work too hard to make a living. You need five minutes each day for quiet visualisation, to imagine and reinvent yourself so that you have an empowering life. Ask yourself, ‘What am I grateful for?’, ‘Who loves me?’, ‘Who do I love?’ and ‘What is my purpose?’
5. Take Massive Action about your Intention and Goals.
Make your self take at least one small step each day towards your outcome, no matter how small the step. At the end of the day you must ask the power questions,
‘What did I achieve today?’ and ‘How much closer to my goal am I?’
To recap, the five magic steps are:
Know exactly where you are right now.
Focus upon a specific intention.
Have a specific game plan to deliver your intentions.
Use vision and your creative spirit through your imagination to create ideas and to design your life.
Take massive action about your intention and goals.
There is no right or wrong, only out comes.
Some people would rather be right than happy. Roy McDonald

Roy McDonald made his first million dollars in 1973. This is estimated to be the same as $10 million in today’s money! He actually does what he teaches!
At age 19 Roy McDonald was like most other Australians. He grew up the son of the typical “Aussie battler” in Sydney’s south west. He remembers on more than one occasion having the power cut-off at home because they couldn’t pay the bill. By age 28, life was very different. The “boy from Bankstown” had beaten the odds and risen to the ranks of an elite few in Australia by amassing his first million dollars. His story is inspirational and an example to us all of how even those who struggle to make ‘ends meet’ today, can be rich tomorrow.
Now 64, Roy has achieved something most of us dream of – he actually makes money while he sleeps! By strategically investing in property, shares and businesses, he has established streams of income that enable him to choose when he ‘works’, although he actually only ever does what he loves to do now.
Today, Roy McDonald is driven to help others experience the kind of success that has become a way of life for him. The information he imparts today focuses on Lifestyle, Relationships, Health and Wellness as well as Financial Freedom
