Flying insects, Digital Air Curtain and Dust Control Equipments
Written by Rodsi Bhatia
Air curtains are devices that separate the inner working environment from the outside by creating an air barrier to prevent mixing of air and possible contamination due to dust particles and smaller insects. They work by creating forceful turbulence to reduce infiltration of undesirable particles and exchange of air to maintain optimum temperature conditions within the working area. Air curtains also reduce the energy costs by reducing the extent of air-conditioning or heating required within the working chambers. However, these devices work efficiently only when there is minimal temperature and pressure difference between the outside and the inside environment and there is a severe reduction in their effectiveness under negative pressures, extreme humidity or extreme temperature differences.
The Air Curtains find widespread application in the research laboratories, aviation industry, storage and warehouses and even restaurants and drive through windows, where closing the doors is not a viable option. You can use a heated air curtain to prevent the outside cold air from causing a drop in the internal temperatures and a non-heated air curtain for cold rooms and refrigeration sections.
The simplest models of air curtains use a blower mounted at the top over an opening that blows air directly across the doorway to prevent mixing with the outside air. More sophisticated models might use a duct return with recalculating air plenum to redirect the flow of air to the source fans for maintaining high face velocities of the air, a desirable trait, necessary for commercial applications. The air curtains are generally equipped with strong fans that cover the entire length of the opening and discharge nozzles that provide the desired air velocity projection for a uniform air stream.
These devices are made up of thick PCRC sheets or other non-corrosive and highly resistant materials, pre-primed and powder coated or painted in attractive shades. They use energy efficient heating elements and sophisticated controls to regulate the temperature and fan speed. The latest models also feature more efficient motors that produce least disturbance due to unnecessary vibrations and noise, while providing optimum turbulence for a smooth performance.
The air curtains are available in appealing designs in both standard and customized finishes to suit the requirements of the specific industry. The latest models offer an ease of installation, high efficiency and modern, elegant designing that is in sync with the working interiors.
Air curtains also work as insect control equipments by keeping the small and large insects from entering the working area.rnOther insect control equipments include table top or wall mounted flying insect capture devices and decorative and powerful glue boards that work silently to eliminate insects from the interiors. Some other decorative instrument control equipments are also available that work by capturing and killing of the insects. These equipments are environmental friendly with tested efficacy and efficiency and are available in unique designs to suit individual requirements. These instrument control equipments are certified for safety both for the user as well as the environment. Apart from being easy to operate, they are also easy to maintain and operate silently without disturbing the atmosphere.
