How often do you feel that other people get to have something nthat is forbidden to you? Something that’s forbidden, not because nit’s impossible (like playing pro ball if you’re only 5 foot 4), nand not because you shouldn't have it because it’s bad for you, but nbecause you simply won't permit yourself to have it.n nYou dream big dreams. Then you do your research. You even getnstarted with the project whether it’s a new business, a nnew relationship, a new savings account, a new diet. You’re ngreat at the start-up phase. n nBut then pretty soon you “lose interest,” you “get bored” nor you decide “it’s not for me,” “it will take too long” or n“I’m just not cut out for this.” n nAhhhh, no matter the form it takes, you are a wizard at nsinging your blues rendition of Forbidden Fruit. n nAnd blue you are, depressed and blue. n nBut true you are to your conviction that the world is nbrimming over with delicious treats you can’t have. nAnd you’re so certain you can’t have them that you nwon’t even allow yourself to learn how to have them. nThat’s how stuck you are. n nPlease don’t hide behind the mistaken idea that you nare so specially limited that you can’t do anything nbut suffer. That’s just false praise and worship of nyour unconscious fear of being fabulous. n So, what’s the simple difference between you nand those who live truly fabulous lives?n nVery little, except they have developed the steadfast ndiscipline to learn and keep going. After all, the root nof the word discipline is “disciple” – which means to nbe a learner. n nAnd when you give yourself permission to be a learner, nyou break out of the prison that has held you hostage nsince . . . the time when you learned and believed that nyou couldn’t move forward, couldn’t have what others nhave.n nLiberate yourself, which you can do, every time you can nsay “I don’t know how, please show me,” “Please help me,” nor “I’ll do whatever it takes to master this.” n nWhen you sincerely open yourself to learn, the gate opensnthat has kept you from that previously forbidden fruit. You nimagine and then believe you can jump over the fence, climb nthe ladder, and pick the ripest, juiciest fruit you’ve always nwanted.n nAnd guess what? You do. n nYou become like every other person who has ever made their ndreams come true. You set your goal. You ask for help. You nlearn, and learn, and then you learn a whole lot more . . . until . . . n nUntil you are living the fabulous life you so desire.n nSo, be a learner. Be fabulous.
