Did you know that reduce, reuse, recycle is mentioned in a particular order for a reason? Recycling is always the LAST resort. Think of it this way:rnReduce what you buy and bring into the house (edibles excluded). If you HAVE to buy it, reuse it for something else when its original usefulness is done. Recycle it properly only when it can not be used again or any longer. Remember it takes energy and resources and money to recycle! RECYCLE THOSE PAPERTOWEL AND TOILET PAPER ROLLS Trying to find an easy way to start seeds? Sure they can be recycled, but why BUY peat pots when you can use these rolls and plant them right into your garden! It’s seed starting time most anywhere at some time of the year – either start saving them for spring in your part of the country, or start your seeds NOW in the southwest. rnJust take the toilet paper role and cut it in thirds and a paper towel roll in fourths. Stand them on end in a plastic food tray from the take out food. Fill them with seed starter soil and the seeds. Keep them moist and when the seedlings are big enough and the weather is right, plant the entire roll in the ground - no need to remove that delicate seedling. Happy Gardening, Doreen
