Las Vegas, or as it is commonly known "Sin City", is one of the most exciting places to take a vacation in the United States. Millions of tourists travel to the arid desert of Nevada in order to experience the great gambling, shows, and celebrity scene that are all prominent in Sin City. It is no surprise that money can disappear quite quickly in this town. However, there are quite a few things to do in Las Vegas that are absolutely free.

Many of us are no strangers to seeing a wild lion up close, most zoos have several wild cats within their exhibits. The only problem is that most charge a steep entrance fee and then there is the hassle of dealing with screaming children and lethargic animals. This is not the case at the MGM Lion Habitat. This eight and a half acre ranch that is located twelve miles from the MGM hotel is an absolute thrill and is on the list of the things to do in las vegas that is completely free. Keith Evans is the head trainer of this habitat and the MGM hotel stated that they built this attraction as appreciation to the majestic lion. The habitat features a mini safari which is quite enjoyable and allows you to see "Leo" the lion, a direct decedent from the lion that MGM uses to open their feature films.

If this hasn't satisfied your wild side there is another free attraction that features many animals such as Swans, Koi, Flamingos, and exotic turtles. The Flamingo hotel and casino is another free attraction with the great city of Las Vegas. The animals reside within lush foliage, greenery, and shimmer waterfalls as the hotel has spared no expense to create a believable habitat. All the animals and greenery have been imported and are cared for by highly trained personal. It almost seems to good to be true for one of the free attractions, but this is fabulous Las Vegas where the extraordinary become the ordinary.

The Mirage Hotel also boasts a gorgeous twenty thousand gallon saltwater aquarium within it's lobby. This attraction is another one of the free things to do in Las Vegas. An amazing deal considering most city aquariums charge an average of twenty dollars for admission. When gazing in the Mirage aquarium you will see sharks, stingrays, puffer fish, and artificial coral that is so vibrant and lifelike you will have a hard time believing it is man-made. The Mirage hotel enlisted the help of some of the top aqaurium designers to create a believable environment for both you and the animals which call it home. Within the Aquarium there are over one thousand coral reef animals which represent sixty species from Hawaii, Tonga, Fiji, Australia, and others.

Las Vegas is an amazing city with so many things to do that you will find it hard to cram in everything. Thanks to these few things to do in Las Vegas that are completely free of charge you will be able to spend your money on the other great shows and attractions within the city. So get out there and plan a vacation to fabulous Las Vegas. With over 455 attractions, some of which are completely free of charge, and dozens of hotels and casinos, there will never be a dull moment on the vacation of your dreams.
