Galtaji is a divine pilgrimage of India, situated 10 kms away from Jaipur in Rajasthan. The immense compound of Galta Ji has numerous temples in it. The Temple of Galtaji is well-known for its natural water mechanism. Galta was once alleged to be the 'ashram' of Maharishi Galab, and consider it nothing has much altered about this place. In the Western fraction of India, it is just one of its kinds. Diwan Kriparam constructed the attractive Sun Temple on the top of the premier peak in Jaipur. It is evident from every spot at Jaipur. The Birla family economically patronizes the Galta Temple. Between the abundant scene of trees and bushes, this temple is an old place of pilgrimage. Behind the temple there is a profound temple-filled gorge.
The Temple of Galtaji is renowned for its natural water mechanism. Located amidst the beautiful landscape, Galtaji Temple proffers a pleasing vision of the city. Natural water springs draw unique concentration of the visitors. The water of these springs is accruing in the tanks or 'kunds'. Overall, there are seven tanks; holiest being the Galta Kund, which not at all goes dry. It is measured propitious to take bath in the divine waters of Galtaji. Thousands of people approach each year to get a dip in the tanks to rinse out their sins. Makar Sankranti is considered as a special day to take bath in the divine waters of Galtaji. The temple commemorates the Hindu festival of Makar Sankranti in the middle of January with full passion. Devotees never fail to get holy bathe in the kunds yet in the freezing month of January. The foremost temple is the Temple of Galtaji, constructed in pink stone. The most well-known temple constructed on the top of a hill. It embraces an enormous complex and is famed due to the large family of monkeys who live here. These rhesus macaques were marked in National Geographic channel's 'Rebel Monkeys' string.
How to Reach
The holy place of Galta is 100m beyond Jaipur to the east. Tourists can get a bus up to Vidyadharji ka Bagh (6 km from Jaipur city center) and then can obtain a rickshaw to go up the rest 4 km. Be conscious of the monkeys abode here. Flower and food may invoke an annoying response from the prehistoric ancestors of humans.
