For many in the Western world, our day starts with the annoying sound of the alarm clock and we wake feeling like we’re already chasing the day. Our conscious mind jumps right into our “to do” list, and before our feet hit the floor, we’re already stressed.
InspireMeToday.com was born because I believe in the power of daily inspiration, and because it seems we teach that which we most need to learn ourselves. It’s so easy to allow life and other things to become more important than what really matters, with the excuse that we don’t have the time.
Funny thing is, two of the most inspirational and productive people who ever lived- Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa, took 3 to 4 hours each day to meditate, pray and reconnect. Most of us would say that we don’t have the luxury of taking fifteen minutes for ourselves daily, yet these two amazing individuals accomplished great things in the world because they first made the time for themselves.
When we start our day with inspiration, it guides our footsteps and we seem to walk an easier path. Doors open, mountains move and things that once looked impossible become possible. And the only thing that changed was us- because we were inspired.
Inspiration invites us to connect to who we really are, deep inside. When it feels so delicious and makes such an immediate and positive difference in our life, why is it that we still think we’re too busy to take the time?
Taking the time for inspiration actually gives us more time in our day because we’re that much more productive. And, our day is much more enjoyable as well.
If we want to change what’s showing up on the outside of our world, start first with changing what’s happening on the inside. If you want the world to inspire you, start your day with inspiration.
Before we can inspire others we first need to be inspired. Before we can give to others, we first need to give to ourselves. It all starts with taking the time for what’s important- YOU.
I invite you to take a moment for you, right now. Think about what inspires you and welcome it into your life. Visualize today unfolding with perfection. Realize your magnificence and your interconnectedness to all life. Breathe in the wonder that you are and reconnect to the greater part of you. Then take that inspiration with you throughout today and watch the difference in your life, because you first took the time for you.
