Do you ever feel like the world is against you? Like you are working so hard to move toward your goals, but your feet are encased in thick mud? Or you are doing everything right, but something…some unseen force is wreaking havoc behind the scenes and everything is coming out wrong?

If so…stop.

Just stop.

The universe is trying to tell you something.

We all have those times when no matter what we do, life isn’t coming out the way we want. But sometimes, what we desire…or how we are going about getting it…is not what the universe has planned for us.

So what do you do when you feel stuck in the mud?

First, as I said, you stop. Ease off those attempts to move forward because all you are doing is using up essential energy going nowhere. Then breathe. Deep breathes. Quiet your mind. Silence all those statements you keep telling yourself and all the words you’re using to motivate yourself. Once the inner chatter of ‘I gotta…’ or ‘Why can’t I…why isn’t it…or what am I doing wrong?’ is gone, listen to what is going on outside of your mind. Look around and see what is happening around you.

What are the messages being sent to you?

Maybe you are struggling so much because your goal is in line with your path, but the means to get there aren’t. For example, you spend all your time perusing online dating sites and you’re completely oblivious to sharing the elevator with the new person who moved into your building. Or you want to be successful in business, but turn down opportunities that aren’t the typical steps to success because they aren’t what you think is the proper way about getting to where you want to be.

The universe absolutely wants us to have our inner desires…like love, success, abundance, fulfillment. However, sometimes the universe has different ideas on what that really is for us.

Figure out what actions may not be in alignment to your goals. Look at what support systems you have in place to help you succeed, such as processes, friends, collaborations, etc. Set your intentions on how you want to complete your work and ask for support in getting the work done. Most important, after your deep breaths and your listening, continue to hold on to the belief that you can do it, you just need to figure out the best way.
