Sticking to a basic few fonts will give a sense of predictability to your page and will allow readers to scan through the text fast and get what they want.

If you are going to monetize your site make sure that the number of ads you take on does not overpower the page. At the end of the day a website’s readers come in for the content and not for the ads. Do not give your ads any additional promotion than you would for other images.
Always make sure to have your website tested in multiple browsers. Include the option for it to be viewed on smartphones and tablets. Also make sure that you test it on multiple OS, to test its efficacy.
