Getting the Sales Elements Right
All businesses are driven by sales target and quotas to keep them running and gain profit, sometimes a not so good product can sell even better compared to a high quality one, it will eventually all come down to your sales strategy and marketing efforts.
The People
The backbone of your sales process would be your staff, a combination of attitude and knowledge is needed to be successful in this area. The perfect sales person for any business must have a great command in your language both oral and written, energetic, assertive, able to dictate the pace of the call whilst still keeping etiquette and professionalism, a good listener, charismatic and above all your sales guy must be able to impart the value of your product.
Knowledge wise, your staff especially your sales representatives must know the product more than anyone else! Investing in staff trainings and seminars will definitely pay off in the long run.
Sales Strategy
Your market and any market will continue to evolve and you must be always be on top of these changes, sales is a continuous learning process and you must not stick to one sales plan, your company must be diverse and able to switch from one strategy to another. Always remember that there is no universal sales strategy; let’s say spin selling worked for one of your clients but there is no guarantee that it will work for the rest.
Marketing
Advancements in technology paved way for new marketing avenues but along with it is the increased level of competition. You must step your game up and utilize every available resource; however it doesn’t mean spending all the company money in marketing. Online marketing has become the safe haven of companies with tight budget, social networking sites have proven to be very effective and can single handedly build a product’s name from scratch.
Things you’ll need
Let’s say you got everything right, you have a sales superstar, a strategy that can keep up with the market and leads started to pour, the next thing you’ll need is a reliable phone system anda CRM to manage your leads and finally make quality sales call!
Businesses today prefers a cloud PBX system for internal communications and a SIP trunk for outside calls rather than a conventional phone systems because it is more advantageous and cheaper to have, some providers also includes a full CRM integration leaving you with only one comprehensive system to manage and ensure a good pipeline of clients.
Your phone system will not only serve as the point of contact for clients, it can also help in building your brand by establishing client rapport and paving way for outstanding customer service.
