I love subscription boxes because of the freedom they offer in regards to trying new products every month without having to look forward to good products myself. That's how I came across GlamEgo - a subscription service that is apparently number 1 in the industry. They team up with quality brands and send good sized samples over each month to their subscribers.
I received a complimentary box for review purposes but this post is not sponsored in any way and all the opinions are my own.
Why GlamEgo? - GlamEgo only teams up with quality brands that are well established in the industry but which may not be a household name yet. I love this because I love to support small businesses and GlamEgo has introduced me to many an amazing brands with this one subscription box.
GLAMEGO SUBSCRIPTION BOXES, like all other subscription services, work best when you get at least a 3 to 6 month plan. For instance, while the cost of 1 box is Rs. 399, you only pay Rs. 329 per box on the 3 month plan and Rs. 299 per box for the 6 month plan. The shipping becomes free for the 6 month box.
I'd suggest getting the 3 month box first and trying out the brands they have.
August 2017 Box Contents
I received 4 items in my box and the total cost of the box comes up to Rs. 1660/-
1. Charcoal and Bentonite Clay Pack of Neemli (Rs. 550) - This is my favorite product from this month's box. Charcoal masks are amazing for acne prone skin like mine and they help to control oil production as well. This is a good one and comes in a deluxe size. I think with weekly use, this would last me for 2 to 3 months. I would definitely be buying this again.
Pros -
> Amazing results in one use
> Helps control oil and sebum productions
> Tightens skin
> Reduces pore size
> Organic ingredients
Cons -
> Price is a bit high
> Don't like the packaging at all, a jar would have been better
2. Brahmi & Amla - Hair Cleanser of Biobloom (Rs. 399) - This is another amazing product from this box that comes in a deluxe size. I follow the no poo curly girl method of shampooing my hair and only use shampoo once a week, so this size would last me for at least 6 months. The product comes with hibiscus which is a superfood for hair - I would buy this once my bottle finishes.
Pros -
> Amazing scent that lasts for sometime
> Really cleans the hair and makes it squeaky clean
> Quite moisturizing to the hair as well
> Free from harmful sulphates etc.
> Affordable price
Cons -
None!
3. The Nature's Co Vanilla Face Cream - This is an emollient type face cream from The Nature's Co which is another high flying brand in India. Organic and made with carefully selected ingredients, the products of this brand are mostly hit and miss with me. This one, unfortunately, is a miss for me as a face cream but I love this for my neck and feet.
Pros -
> Great vanilla scent
> Free from parabens
> Emollient cream for dry skin
> Contains Vitamin B for skin health
Cons -
> Too expensive for the quality and size
> Scent doesn't last for too long
> Not good for combo-oily skin
4. Magnolia BB Cream of Inveda (Rs. 150) - This could be an amazing tinted moisturizer for lighter skinned people but the lack of colors is disappointing. I got a really light shade but was surprised to see that it had no tint to it whatsoever. With so many amazing BB creams in the market that give light to medium coverage, this one is a fail for me. I have previously used this cream as well and it broke me out.
Pros -
> Good moisturizer for non-sensitive skin
> Affordable
Cons -
> No coverage
> Causes breakouts
> Bad shade range
> Blends to nothing
Will you subscribe to GlamEgo? Overall, I'd give this month's box 4/5 as I liked 2 out of the 4 products a lot, 1 was a so-so find, and 1 was a dud.
