This hall is actually a stunning half timbered black and white medieval house built in 1325 as a family home and maintained beautifully to serve a perfect tourist sport for today's visitors. The current building and grounds are administered by a registered charity known as the Samlesburry Hall Trust (Charity number 526052), whose aim is to preserve the Hall for the people of the area and visitors to Lancashire. The Trust was founded in the 1920s when the Hall was about to be demolished. Since then the Hall has been a museum and Gallery, and host to many grand functions.
This is a place known for organizing ghost tours North West as it is one of the most haunted locations in Britain' resident spirits including the legendary White Lady – Dorothy South worth, who dies of a broken heart, and has been on many occasions. You will be thrilled after knowing that there is a particular place in the hall which is famous for various strange activities such as a slap to the back of a head, uneasy feelings by wedding guests, a shadow passing and many more.
A large number of TV programmes and magazines have tried to record the ghostly activity at Samlesburry. Visitors have included UKTV’s ‘Most Haunted’ team including Yvette Fielding and Derek Acorah, historian and ghost-hunter Richard Felix, Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman and numerous international media teams. The hall organizes a regular program of ghost hunt activities and haunted ghost tours in North West, on which people can take part is live interactive paranormal investigations.
