Goa: A Heavenly Experience

Goa, situated in the western coast of Indian peninsula, has become a tourist hub and is visited by people from all over the world. With a long coastline of more than 100 km, there are over 36 beaches in Goa, each having a distinctiveness of its own. The lush green forests, the pristine blue water, the white sandy beaches, swaying coconut palms lining the coastline, majestic waterfalls and cliffs add to the natural scenic beauty of Goa. A holiday in Goawill most obviously refresh you and enthrall you with its breath-taking natural scenery.
The amazing beaches in Goa have their own unique specialties. There are one set of beaches that are full of life and another set of beaches that are very calm and will take you ‘far from the madding crowd’. The beaches in the northern part of Goa are always crowded with people as these beaches are full of activities. Parties keep happening all throughout the night. A lot of adventurous water-sport activities like snorkeling, banana boat riding, surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, scuba diving , swimming and parasailing are carried on in these beaches. Some of the famous beaches in the northern side are Baga, Calangute, Anjuna and Candolim. A Goa trip can never be complete without experiencing the exuberance and enthusiasm of these beaches.
Goa is also an apt destination for those who love to spend their holidays by relaxing and lousing around. The beaches in the southern part of Goa are peaceful and are less crowded. You can enjoy the nature’s beauty in solitude. This will completely detach you from the fast and hectic city life. You can refresh yourself by strolling along the white sandy beaches or just chilling around on the shacks. The peace and tranquility of these beaches will mesmerize you. Palolem, Varca, Colva and Betalbatim are some of the famous beaches in South Goa. The diversities of the beaches in Goa will simply take your breath away.
Apart from having some wonderful beaches, Goa also has some wonderful churches. Some of the famous ancient churches are the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, the St. Catherine Cathedral, the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Chapel of our Lady of Rosary. These churches are not only of great religious importance for the Christians but they also exhibit fine architecture.
Another major attraction of this place is the Goa Carnival that is held in February for three days. The festive atmosphere reaches its zenith during this time. A lot of activities like concerts, fashion shows and DJ nights take place. A Goa trip should be planned keeping the carnival in mind. This will definitely enhance and enrich your holiday in Goa.
Goa is also the perfect destination for the food lovers as it offers some great delicacies. Its cuisine is world famous. It is basically famous for its lavish sea foods. A Goa trip will undeniably satisfy your taste buds and make your holiday in Goa complete.
