Goa Tourism: Vivacity and Rich History of Goa Is Unparallel
Written by Sofia Jennie
There’s perhaps no other place that can match the atmosphere and ambience of a Goa beach. Though, there are countless beaches in India but it’s the sheer liveliness and joie de vivre of a Goa beach that makes it stand out from the crowd. Goa tourism industry is flourishing heavily as no other corner of India can serve such a full-of-life beach whose golden carpet of sand is as soft as a mother’s lap and the sparkling sea as dense blue as the sky above.
If you are a job-doer wearied with your worldly affairs or a student burdened with exams, then a Goa holiday can be a refreshing and welcome change for the rejuvenation of body, mind and spirits. If you are an always-on-the-run youth, Goa beach offers a tailor-made ambience to you to frolic out with your friends and girlfriend (or boyfriend, as the case may be).
But Goa tourism is not just about the sea waves and the sun-kissed beaches. The real splendour of Goa lies in its interiors that mirror our historical past. Once out of the hustle and bustle of the lively Goa beach, you would get to see what the real Goa is all about. Its culture, though Indian, borrows heavily from the Portuguese who had established their colony here a few centuries back. The historic forts, towering churches and silent cemeteries are remnants of the past colonised by Portuguese and later dominated by British.
The Church of St. Caetano, The Church of St. Francis and Se Cathedral still hold the scent of history and will instantly evoke a strong sense of nostalgia in your heart. The museums house a number of artefacts, coins and photographs from the bygone era and would instantly transport you to the good, old days. The lifestyle and culture of the inhabitants have shades of Portugal, Britain and India and this mix is something unique to the state. Though, an attempt is, herein, being made to conjure up a description in words, the exact feel can only be experienced through a Goa holiday.
Take for example, the world-famous Goa carnival or the Monte Music Festival which witness thousands of visitors thronging the place every year. The aura and atmosphere that takes shape during such riotous merry-making can hardly be penned down on paper. Only a Goa tourism or Goa holiday can make you truly feel the sheer ecstasy that this small corner is all about.
Goa, a small corner of western India, is, indeed, the most sparkling gem of the country’s crown for its amazing culture, wealth of historic details and the stupendously attractive beaches. Everyone (be it friends, lovers, honeymooners or family persons) must, at least once, go for a Goa holiday...... and life won’t be the same.
