In simple words, a cup of green tea a day keeps your dentist away. You may wonder, but it is true that it helps in maintaining the good periodontal health. As a result, there is no need to rush to the dentist for the oral problems. This herbal tea itself is like a preventive medicine for your dental issues.

Green tea contains antimicrobial molecules called catechins which kills the bacteria associated with tooth decay and gum disease. It has the unique ability to reduce the inflammation in response to periodontal bacteria helps reducing the symptoms of periodontal disease. Thus, due to anti inflammatory activity it actually help promote periodontal health, and ward off further disease.

Although, drinking green tea has numerous benefits for good oral health but dental care is still important. You should take care of your teeth by regular dental check ups, brushing it twice daily, flossing along with brushing as it revitalize the gum tissue, removes the plaque and food stuck in places where a toothbrush cannot reach. Following all these steps you can make your teeth and gums healthy which is important for healthy body.
