The festival of winning good over evil is the air; throbbing heart, cheerful faces, lights , crackers, blowing conch shell and the moment when Lord Rama aims his bow and arrow to kill the demon king Ravana(who abducted Goddess Sita) and defeats him. Dussehra is also celebrated as a day when Goddess Durga killed the demon named Mahishasura who terrorized the earth in the facade of a brutal water buffalo.
