Have you experienced loss of dear ones in your life?
Do you feel devastated, lost and helpless?
Why do we feel shattered and heartbroken?

Let us understand the spiritual science behind “Grief” and ways to come out of it.

Loss of someone who was an integral part of our life be it spouse, siblings, friends, kids, parents or anyone who was dear to us, can create intense emotional trauma or shock.
It can make us feel isolated, damaged and lonely.

Why do we experience Grief?

Grief is a natural response to loss of what we have cherished.
We have always lived with the belief that presence of someone (spouse/ kids/ parents etc) makes us complete, that is why, when there is sudden loss of that person, it generates vacuum in our life.
We do not know how to move on in our life...
We also feel that God is unjust and at times question why God has given this to me?

Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan ( Dadashri) has given beautiful answer to these questions.

One seeker came to him asking,
Dadashri, My life was very happy with my wife, I don’t know why God took her away from me at the age of twenty-eight? I have no way of connecting with her. Why would God do such a thing?
In answer to that Dadashri said, It is like this, If you want to take off the rust from a piece of iron, you have to heat it and then keep beating it to bring it back to its original state. Similarly the beatings that human beings get in their life make them clean.
If your wife was alive then you will go on just like that. Then you would not look for medicine, look for solution and spirituality.

There are different solutions for this, different ways to deal with it..

1. Acknowledge the Pain and accept the loss.

Acceptance of situation releases one from mental disturbances.
Rejection and resistance of the situation generates lot of disturbances and complexity.
Such incidents occur in life and where the intellect seeks justice in them, the result is misery. Pujya Dadashri has imparted His extraordinary knowledge that in reality injustice does not exist in this world. Nature is always just. Not even for a split second has it been unjust.
Nature has never deviated from justice. Nature is not a person or a God, who is under any influences. Nature is an interplay of scientific circumstantial evidences. Many circumstances must be precise, in order for a task to be accomplished.

2. Find ways to move on in life..

Dadashri says “Enjoy what is present in front of you. Do not worry about that which is not present.”
You do not have to forget the past; you just have to remain in the present by experiencing that which is before you and thus you will stop living in the past.

3. Stay Positive

When difficulties arrive in your life, positive thinking gives you the strength to face the situation, as well as remain unaffected. However, it is hard to stay positive when tragedy strikes.

Param Pujya Dadashri says, “Adopt one principle in life; always remain positive,
never support negative. Whenever any negativity arises, remain silent.”

If you want to take out air from a bottle, then you fill it with water. The air will automatically come out. In the same way, when positivity is poured within you, negativity simultaneously evaporates.

4. Turn loss into inspiration:
Turn sorrow into motivation, instead of asking why, turn it to what can I learn from it?
It can bring purpose to one’s life and can turn sorrow into joy. How can I transform the pain of loss into an act of love and service?
Do something which the person you loved, always loved doing that way you can feel connected with them.

5. Find Peace
Whenever we grieve for our loved ones, our inner vibrations reach them. Those who have departed from us become unhappy wherever they are because the effect of our unhappiness reaches them. Whenever we pray for them, our prayers too reach them and they will be at peace. It is our duty to give peace to them.

Spiritual Science:
One seeker came to Dadashri asking,
Questioner: I was very close to my son. I cannot forget him.

Dadashri: Yes, it is not easy to forget, but if you do not, it will make you both miserable. As a father you have to ensure that you do not hurt him anymore. When you grieve over him, your unhappiness reaches him exactly and for sure. It is akin to a telephone or a television in terms of its remote effects. This is the nature of vibrations created within, in this world. Whenever you remember your son, you should say a prayer for the liberation of his soul.

Dadashri says, like the cover on the pillow will keep changing, but the pillow remains the same. When the pillow cover becomes ragged, it will be discarded. In the same way this covering of ours (Soul), this body too is discarded.
