Question: I have taken quite a few Chopra Center retreats in the past year, I am wondering if it is necessary to stay in touch with like-minded others in order to stay in touch with the consciousness that we share? Is a higher state of consciousness something that we need to spend effort in maintaining on a daily basis? Answer: rnDifferent types of people will benefit from different levels of social interaction. For some people sharing on a daily basis may be too much. For others like yourself, it will be just right. Either way, there is great evolutionary benefit in keeping the company of people who share your spiritual aspirations. By associating and conversing with like-minded individuals, we provide mutual support for our individual aims and make our collective intentions much more powerful than they would be separately. rnThe greatest benefit of this kind of group support comes when one lives together in a community of such fellow travelers, but wonderful effects can also be achieved now in online communities, such as on Intent.com. The Internet has allowed people to overcome the problems of distance and time in communication to a remarkable degree and has provided an amazing opportunity to use this technology as a means of connecting and furthering our spiritual goals. rnLove,rnDeepak

The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
