Growing Popularity of Gas Scooters in the Current Millennium

Though gas scooters made their first appearance in experimental forms way back in 1921, their popularity escalated only since 1950s when they were widely accepted all over the world. However, even the entire popularity scale taken together relating to the last five decades of the 20th century many not match the popularity they have assumed during the first decade of the current millennium.

Reasons for Popularity

From the year 2000 onwards there has been quite appreciable enhancement in the use and popularity of gas scooters. Several reasons have contributed to this situation.
With the prices of gasoline sky rocketing; the first decade of the current millennium saw further spike in the demands for these small, economic and easily pliable gas scooters.
It was not only the high price of gasoline but also the multiplication of traffic on the road making them less safe for the drivers of bigger vehicles that has contributed to growing popularity of gas scooters today.
Larger versions of gas scooter as well as electric mopeds mostly manufactured in Germany and other countries were fine for the tourism and traveling purposes but were not as useful as the smaller versions that were popular for instant uses.
Conglomeration of traffic and growing dangers on the roads has also prompted parents to buy such scooters that are considered comparatively safer for their children.
These smaller scooters are also considered to be good for senior citizens and people who have car licenses. While for senior citizens these gearless vehicles are most suitable for short distance travels, for car license holders, no fresh license for driving these two wheelers is necessary.

Popularity Campaign by Companies

In addition to all the above reasons there is the persistent popularity campaigning and promotional drives carried out by most of the leading provider brands. For instance; Vespa came up with a couple of very popular gas powered scooters such as the GS125cc and GS150cc that were the improved versions of various other models that hit the market earlier. Another invention was the 175cc model improved by France that was one of the nicest vehicles available in the market. Popularity of the gas scooters is quite understandable.

In the coming days the popularity is likely to grow further and may well become the trend in the scooter market.
