Hard To Know Who To Believe
Written by Billy Carter
The increase in gasoline prices over the last number of years is incredible. Consumers have grown to be increasingly concerned as prices keep escalating, and they want a remedy urgently. Existence becomes tougher and tougher whenever expenses keep going up, but paychecks stay the same. It is not easy when you need to drive, but the extra money for gas is not in the budget. When it seems gas prices have no limit to where they'll increase and you're already hard-pressed, it's frightening how quickly an increase of even a few cents per gallon can add up.
Prices that keep on increasing are tough to cope with, but it becomes especially hard when it happens frequently and then also creates increases further across the supply chain. As soon as gasoline prices go up everything is affected, while the prices are passed on to the consumers. Trucking transport which are more expensive extend damages like an out-of-control fire to everything in their path. As soon as the trucking companies pass around the fuel increases to the lumber yards, grocery stores, and even gas stations, they have to pass on the increases as well. This pattern gets started and changes things with the consumer getting the short end of the stick.
Casual driving will be avoided and priority given to essential items any time spending money is reduced. Continuing high prices inevitably lead to a quest for better priced substitutes. This results in an potential for businesses with products that provide assistance by reducing fuel consumption. The difficulty lies in being able tell the good products from the terrible. There are so many solutions available, which is enticing, but do any of them really work. If a solution saves money, especially when it builds up over time, having to pay for it is something no-one will complain about, and that is what the sellers of fuel-saving methods rely on.
Promoters realize that people are prepared to pay for a solution, and they know that the right emotional appeal will bring in new sales. Prior to rushing over to get your own Product X, take a while to think about this. You should do your homework on each product prior to deciding which one is the right one. Find critical reviews of the products, and learn about what many other consumers have to say, because you don't need to spend money you can't afford for something that doesn't work. Alerts about using gas-saving devices have been provided by the Federal Trade Commisssion.
Ask a lot of questions and satisfy yourself about the credibility of the answers, and be extra careful when lofty claims are made - you don't want to be disappointed later by discovering that you didn't get what you expected. It is actually hard to know who to believe, because more than 100 products, making big claims on gas savings, have been tested by the FTC, and none of them have been found to work. Do not let yourself be taken advantage of when it comes to fuel saving remedies.
