We currently live in a time period referred to as the 5th era, also known as Displeasing era. In this era, you observe that most people are in displeasure of one kind or the other. And principally, any person who is in displeasure will spread only displeasure in his surrounding. Hence, it becomes a vicious circle.

This situation is bound to get even worse with the onset of the 6th era (which is about to set after 18000 years). The 6th era is called the Displeasing-Displeasing era where there will be nothing but displeasing circumstances and all living beings will be in constant pain there.
Now let me take you in flashback to the 4th era, which happened about 2500 years ago...

The 4th era, known as the Displeasing-Pleasing era, is characterized by people giving up everything and moving to forests and Himalayas to advance in spiritual progression. During that time, not only ordinary people but even Kings would renounce their home and go the forests/mountains where they would meet their Spiritual Guru (Gnani Purush) who would impart Self-Realization to them. After being Self-realized, they would spend their time doing meditation and severe penance, and in few years they would get Moksha (totally free from the cycle of life and death) after which they go to Siddh Kshetra (land of liberated souls) and reside there as Pure Souls permanently forever.

Do you know why was it easy to attain spiritual progress in the 4th era?
It is because people who lived in the 4th era had oneness in mind, speech and body. Example: If a King had a thought in his mind that I like this town and I want to acquire it, then he would say it accordingly to the King of that town, and act on it as well, by fighting with the other King and acquiring that town! In the 5th era, characteristically that does not happen. Our mind may think many things, which does not match with our speech and actions; also we may speak a lot of things that may not match with our actions or thoughts in mind; and if we act in a certain way, it may not tally with our thoughts and speech!

Hence, thoughts of giving up everything and moving to the Himalayas to live a spiritual life won’t help you in the present era.

Because of lack of oneness in mind, speech, and body, there is likely to be nominal progression in spirituality by going to the Himalayas. Your mind will say something, speech will say something else, and action will be totally different.

Your meditation will not provide you focus. Focus has to come from inside and not outside. If mountains were important, then it would be set as a spiritual principle, “We all need mountains to attain liberation/Moksha.” But there is no such principle.

If somebody pushes you or slaps you on Himalayas, won’t you get mad/angry? Yeah, you will. It means going to the Himalayas does not take away your anger. If Himalayas were able to remove anger, then all the Saints would have lived and died over there only! Do you know in the Himalayas, there are certain monks, who if somebody disturbs their meditation, get so angry that they even curse you! Is there any point of doing meditation if it does not instil any peace in you? Thus, it seems to me a wrong belief to run away to the mountains.

What should we do then to live a spiritual life?
To my mind, you don’t need to leave home or quit family and friends. If we can’t give happiness to people inside our home, how are we ever going to ever progress spiritually? So rather than going to Himalayas, we need to introduce ourself to the right science that can take us into spirituality?

Akram Science
My experience tells me with utter conviction that Akram Science is the step-less science that will help you live a spiritual life. It is called step-less because it is the most appropriate path for us in the 5th era, where we don’t need to run away to the mountains. Because of lack of oneness in mind, speech, and body, we cannot succeed by adopting the 4th era mechanisms.

Pujya Deepakbhai, the Spiritual Master of Akram Science, (www.dadabhagwan.org) imparts Self-realization in just 2 hours, whereby we attain the experiential knowledge of who I really am.
Example: You believe that “I am Rahul (your name)”. But is that your real identity? In a few years, people will say Rahul died and the body too will be cremated, but you move on; you remain. In your next birth, they will name you ‘Sandeep’ and you will believe you are Sandeep. So are you really Rahul or Sandeep or something else? Rahul, Sandeep are just temporary names. Name keeps changing and so does the body! But Soul remains.

Therefore, we truly are a Pure Soul which never dies and is permanent. In the Self-realization ceremony, this is what Pujya Deepakbhai makes us realize with his divine spiritual powers. Thereafter, as we follow His teachings, we are able to increase our awareness of really ‘I am not Rahul, I am a Pure Soul.’ Consequently, if our house gets burnt or we become bankrupt, we no longer experience pain nor do we complain, we are able to live life peacefully. And if any quarrel happens with parents or spouse, we learn to rightly apologize to the Soul of the person we’ve caused pain to. By maintaining awareness of Pure Soul, our anger, pride, deceit, greed too begin to dissolve and gradually we get to see more and more oneness manifesting in our mind, speech and body as we continue to remain aware of all that is happening inside us.

Within us exists a deep ocean of faults in the form of our rigid opinions, attachments, hatred, anger, pride, deceit, greed. After Self-realization, as we keep apologizing for our mistakes, we become free from all faults and we turn into a fountain of pure love which is devoid of attachment or hatred of any kind and which showers only love, pure love. That is the real essence of a spiritual life, which we attain with Akram Science, as taught by the Spiritual Master, and which we learn to practice right here in our own home staying between our own people!!

Author's Bio:

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
