In the quest for living a life of spirituality and stewardship, it’s necessary to examine all areas of our daily lives. When it comes to ecological stewardship, we are obliged and compelled to take care of this wonderful planet that gives us so much.
Maybe you recycle and are careful to compost. Maybe you participate in clean-ups of natural areas and work to protect wildlife – those precious creatures we share our world with. But have you thought about the cosmetics you use? Have you considered what the creams, lotions and makeup you put on your skin and face may be doing to our delicate environment? If you haven’t, now is the time. Let’s take a look at why it’s important to consider the types of
facial treatment products you are using.
Many beauty products are made with man made chemicals and other ingredients that are not only harmful to you, but also harmful to our environment. Products made with petrochemicals use a non-renewable fossil fuel (petroleum) in them. As everyone knows, the earth’s reserves are already being used at a high rate, and they aren’t replaceable. This is a compelling reason to consider using other forms of facial care, such as all
natural face products.
Skin care made with natural ingredients are healthier for you. It’s just as important to honor the sacredness of your body, as it is to honor the sacred earth that offers so many blessings to us all. Your face, and indeed, your entire body will respond better to skin care that is created by nature, rather than created in factories by combining chemicals that may be harmful to you.
Natural skin treatment products are better for all types of skin, especially sensitive skin that may react adversely to creams and makeup that are filled with petroleum derivatives, dyes and chemically created fragrances.
Consider too, that in using natural skin products, when you wash them off what goes down your drain is essentially harmless to our environment. Even if you rinse out an empty skin lotion bottle that was once filled with a natural ingredient lotion, you can feel safe that what is being rinsed out and down your drain will not add harmful chemicals to the environment (don’t forget to recycle that bottle once you’ve rinsed it!).
As you continue to add new ways to spiritual living consider using all natural skin care products – those that don’t deplete the Earth of resources that aren’t renewable, and that are healthy for the environment and for your skin as well. You’ll have the joy of knowing that you are creating a beautiful, healthy looking you, while preserving the beauty and health of the Planet.nn
