No, hellfire does not exist but hell does. Torture by fire does not exist as you can only guess how this does not apply since there is only a God of Love. There is only separation from Father, that is the true hell. Hell does exist, hellfire does not! We have been redeemed by Jesus Christ, by His act of love, His surrender, His obedience, His free will choice of Love; His Shed Blood covers us all. We are all redeemed and can by grace, go before Father. But how did this lie and manipulation start?

The fire and brimstone preaching is often misquoted and misunderstood. The idea of Gehenna (or Ge Hinnom in Hebrew), a name derived from a deep ravine south of Jerusalem, known as the "valley of the sons of Hinnom". In this place there had been awful things done out of sacrifice to the unHoly. After a period of time this was used as a place that those who died and whose families didn't not claim their bodies were literally out cast into the pit of fire, this place call Gehenna. These who were left abandoned by their families, separate from love, were given to the state and left here in this place as their burial site. This was a place that was a dump in every sense of the word, it was a place of rot, garbage, reeking wind and it was a perpetual burning area due to pitch added to keep the area burning. Many knew of this as it was a place that was disgusting and disturbing, the smell of it must have been absolutely horrible. This was used as a description to help people identify with the knowledge of what the true separation of God was like.

People at the time understood that it was a place where those who were separate from their family were buried. It is a place of torment for we are meant to be love, created out of love, serving the One Love of God and sharing this love. Hell, separation from God is being apart from this love. We do not have to be in this place, we can choose love and share with God. We are admonished for our choices separate from God and reminded of the suffering that is inherent whenever we choose separateness from God. This is why the drastic example of the burning pit was used, to give people the deeper understanding through a practical, well known example of the time of separation and lack of love.

We are always encouraged to be in this place of love and choose to share with God in love.

Let us look at the scriptural references to hell:

"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell." Matthew 5:22

Here we have Jesus Christ speaking again in parable form to help people understand better. If we remember that we are the children of God, when we refer to someone else being a "fool" what are we in danger of here? Can we see how our words and actions toward another reflect what is in our heart? Can we understand how the tongue can be that tool helping us to restrain, not boast of how we are better or how we can sit in judgment but use our tongue out of love and guide not condemn our brothers and sisters. Even if our brother errs do we further err with them through misuse of our own tongue, reflecting anger and judgment from within our own heart?

"If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." Matthew 5:29

This is how vigilant we are to be in mastering ourselves. This is a parable, an illustration of how we are to act on removing sin from our own self. We are not to tear out a part of our body, remember this is but an illustration describing how to deal with our choices of sinfulness. We must be that place of love and recognize where we are not loving, where are we not being as God would be, love as God would love, do as God would do, share as God would share. We are to see the problem and correct it. We do not continue to allow the problem to continue but take the necessary loving steps to correct.

"Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28

"But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."Luke 12:5

This too identifies what our focus is to be. Are we more worried about what the sons of mankind have to say about us and fear what they may do to us or are we more concerned with living up to what God asks of us and how we fear not pleasing God through love?

We are to be cognizant of the fear of displeasing God, not doing what God has asked of us, namely "Loving God with all our heart, all our mind and all our soul. And loving our neighbor as ourself." Mark 12:29-31

Can we see that when we answer all things out of love, we are doing as asked of us by God? Can we see that we answer the original issues by answering out of Love, paying attention to doing things that please God, loving things rather than acting separate or apart from God and His will for us!

"In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side." Luke 16:23

This is referring to the story of the rich man and Lazarus found in Luke chapter 16:19-31.

This is summed up by the previous scripture noted above, loving our neighbor as ourself. Had the rich man shared his wealth and his abundance with Lazarus who had none, he wouldn't be in hell. This parable is to reinforce how we are to act with one another, out of love, with respect and caring for all our brothers and sisters. It is a call to righteousness that we can answer through love.

"For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment" 2 Peter 2:4

Here is a concrete statement reinforcing what we have been shown, the unHoly angels being encapsulated, Father allowing them to watch the course of events and how His children can choose love, even in the face of adversity. This hell again, simply stated, separate from God.

It is also about Father dealing with the fallen ones, the unHoly ones, those that will never choose to come back to God and what lies in wait for them. It is and how we are all called to make our choices out of love and not fear. We are already freed by Jesus Christ. There is nothing to earn, no shame or guilt is necessary. His love is a free gift. All God asks is that we recognize the love we were created in, share this love, and see His love for all of us. We are the place of love! We can choose to be humble and realize that it is through God's sharing, through God's love that we are able to know love.

We do not need to dictate to one another who are to go to "Hell" and who are not. We are NOT the ones who sit in judgment. We can offer correction to our brothers and sisters through love but not condemn them for we do not have the power to do so, that is up to God.

This is Father's work; this is the story of God's love. He is the one who makes all the decisions, not us.

Seek rather to let love flow, not condemning a brother or sister in need but guiding them gently with love back to Father. We do not return hate for hate, we give love freely, Love One another as I have loved you (John 15:12)

Love springs eternal. Father calls to us all. We can choose to be with Him, to love or to separate and create our own hell. Father wants us all with Him. Will you choose Love? It is that simple for Jesus did the part that no man could have. Now will you choose love?

Father awaits...why wait any longer. Call out to Him now, choose love! "The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 13:3)
