Herbal Tea Remedies Mental Stress
Written by Roberto Sedycias
Life can be stressful with work, relationships, children, relatives, and so many other nuances that make daily life chaotic and sometimes taxing on mental health. An increase in levels of stress can easily contribute to things like higher blood pressure, poor sleeping habits, and even a weakened immune system that makes it harder to fight off illness when the seasons change or when things are floating in the air. That is why it is important to take measures and try to prevent this onset of extreme stress and to try and find ways to alleviate the tensions that seem to plague daily life.
One way is through the consumption of herbal teas. Unlike many other beverages, herbal teas are natural and derived from plants and flowers. These things give them soothing, natural blends of flavors and also, as they are brewed drinks, have a calming effect on your entire body and mind and spirit. Tea can sometimes even perk up your mind or your spirits and make you feel overall healthier. Not to mention the benefits for mental health alone, but tea can also improve your physical health, as it is chock full of antioxidants that help strengthen your immune system and keep you healthy and in fit condition.
There are many flavors of herbal teas from which to choose, so no matter what your preference, you will find tea that is right for you. For example, if you love a natural tasting tea that is highly calming and has the power to soothe your stressed out and tense spirit, then something like green tea, jasmine green tea, or lavender or earl grey are the kinds of teas that you ought to select. All of these teas use extracts from plants and flowers that give them not only an amazingly soothing and well blended taste that will bring you a sense of peace and harmony but also a calming and absolutely amazing fragrance that will soothe your spirit and bring you a sense of calm and wellbeing. Be sure to fully brew the water so that you get the full effects of the tea bag and all the rich flavor and aromatic wonder that the tea has to offer.
If you want something that is even more bursting with flavor then you can choose something like Hibiscus, or key lime hibiscus or mango passion fruit or a vast array of other exotic berry, cherry berry, or lime berry teas that are usually deep red or crimson in color and have a strong fruit based flavor. These teas are sharper and will alert your senses and make you feel energized, as they are infused with powerful fruit extracts. Also they are highly aromatic to the sense and will please you if you love fruits and flowers. Though not as lulling as the more subtle herbs, like green and lavender, these fruit teas are still plenty refreshing. You can even have these iced for a cool refreshment during the hot months, where stress is still rampant and a hot cup of tea does not seem like a rational choice.
