Higher Sales via Search Engine Optimisation Strategy and Pay per Click Campaign
Written by Erinn Mclean
According to the numerous researches conducted by various organisations, it has been concluded that the number one activity that people do online is search. Whether it is people, places, information, products, services, etc., everyone who is online is searching for one or the other thing. This activity itself gave birth to the search engine giant Google and soon led to numerous other similar sites like Yahoo Search, Bing, MSN, etc. Millions of websites are in existence today on the Internet and thousands more are added every day; with so many sites how can one company make their website stand out and get it to the top of the page on search results? Search engine optimisation strategy is the solution to this problem. SEO is basically about increasing the visibility of one’s website thereby increasing its search engine ranking and traffic to the site. SEO make use of various tools to ensure that the company’s website reaches the top results of search engines. Some of the well-known tools and strategies used in search engine optimisation are:
- Key phrases optimisation
- Keyword research and analysis
- Header tag & Meta tags optimisation, using keywords in them
- Images and hyperlinks
- Google Analytics
- Social media optimisation
- Content writing, article writing, blogging, etc.
Another well-known Internet advertising model is Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaigns. To understand what PPC campaigns are, just search anything on Google, Yahoo or Bing and look at the ads on the top, at the sides and at the bottom of the search result pages. These ads are sponsored ads and most probably they are part of a PPC campaign. The biggest advantage of PPC campaign is that one pays only after they see the results, i.e. after potential customers click on the advertisements. Another advantage of PPC campaign is that it costs less and gives global exposure to the website. It also leads to instant traffic to your website but this traffic is not just ordinary but of targeted customers, who are actually looking for such products or services. Thus, the main goal of achieving higher sales and profits can be achieved using PPC campaign.
Hence, we can conclude that search engine optimisation strategy and pay per click campaigns can help your website gain more visibility, more views and recognition and if the content on the website is well written then it can grab their attention. This, in turn, will lead to more sales and higher profit for the organisation and that too at a low cost. Many companies exist which provide such services like SEO and PPC to organisations.
