The Medical field is one of the most reputed and largest service providers globally. But it is not just about doctors and health treatments behind the successful management of any health institution, whether a hospital or medical institution. Organizations require a well-established administrative department and professional technological staff for smooth working and an organized environment. Their service has mostly been ignored, and they hardly get recognition for their work.

  • Administrative Department and Staff
  • Whenever we visit the hospital, we first approach the reception. From there, it is their concern to make an appointment with the concerned doctor, draft medical bills and, store all required information about their patients, such as name, age, illness, treatment required, consulting doctor, whole treatment procedure from the start to end to serve their patients better and these medical records are saved for future requirements as well. They keep on getting updated as required. Somehow, we tend to ignore their services even though they are responsible for the whole hospital’s data management which they store on a computer and are always available for future references. Other than clinical information, they also tackle the finance-related information of staff and patients. They also translate the patient's medical bill into insurance claims based on the information provided by the patient. There is no place of error as one error in a patient’s report can affect the treatment and may risk the patient's life.

  • Medical Technical Staff
  • Technical staff in hospitals are responsible for creating the official website of the concerned hospital. They are hired to make the website easy for visitors. Most of the appointments are made through websites only, and sometimes an online consultation facility is also provided with an option of online payment. Home delivery of medicine is also provided, so excellent coding skills are required to provide the platform for such services and requires some brainstorming to keep the website updated and virus-free because if the website is shut down, it will cause a great deal of trouble for patients.

Next, technical staff also works on building an app for the hospital. Website and apps are the best way to reach patients and save them from the hassle of making and holding calls to make an appointment or to know about their reports. They are also responsible for safekeeping the patient and other hospital staff data while also maintaining the privacy of the concerned person. They also make sure the stored data is restricted to any usage and implement data usage control by encrypting data and avoiding any leakage in data security.

  • Medical Coding
  • Medical coding is concerned with making the codes out of a physician’s report. To put it simply, they codify the written report of the doctor. This does not include the doctor's treatment but also includes the medical machines used in the whole treatment, diagnosis given to the patient, diet, etc. The medical coder does not fit in the administration or technological department. Still, the codes provided by the coder are later analyzed by the medical biller to build the final medical bill and submit it for insurance claims, if any, for the patient.

  • Medical Transcription
  • Medical transcription includes manually processing the voice notes of physicians and other workers in healthcare into text format. This does not include only the reports of doctors but any information provided by either patient or doctor verbally and changing into textual form. The person responsible for medical transcription is in charge of providing correct processed data, and there is no place for error or misinterpretation.
