DOS, abbreviation for "Disk Operating System", is an form for various intimately relevant operating systems that completely outclassed the IBM PC simpatico industry between 1981 and 1995, or until about 2000 if one considers the partly DOS based Microsoft Windows variations 95, 98, and Millennium Edition.
DOS is an individual user and task operating system with canonic kernel functions that are non reentrant, only a single program at a time can employ them.
