Injury or damage to the skin caused due to friction on any hard surface is known as abrasion. There are certain factors which can cause abrasions such as outdoor activities, accidents, bed sores and many more. Some of the common symptoms of abrasions are partial loss of skin layer, swelling, pain, bleeding, burning sensation, fever, itchiness, tenderness, oozing of fluid and redness.

There are several home remedies for abrasions which are simple to use and are quite safe to try at home without any risk of side effect. Some of the most popular home remedies for abrasions which are being used since a very long time and have proved to be quite effective in many cases are:

1. One of the most effective home remedies for abrasions is the use of garlic oil. All you have to do is apply some garlic oil on the affected area. This will prevent swelling and will help in quick healing.

2. Hydrogen peroxide is considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for abrasions. All you need to do is take a cotton ball and soak it in hydrogen peroxide. Now dab this cotton ball on the affected region of body. This will kill all the bacteria present in wound and will help in quick healing.

3. Lavender oil is also equally beneficial in healing abrasions. Just apply some lavender oil on the affected area to speed up the healing process.

4. Onion juice is known to prevent the growth of harmful microbes or bacteria. All you need to do is take an onion and cut it half. Now you can either rub onion half on the wound or you can extract its juice and then apply it with a cotton ball.

5. Honey is known to have antiseptic properties and is very capable of treating wounds. You just have to apply some honey directly on the wound to heal the abrasion quickly.

6. Marigold flowers are very capable of treating abrasions. Just take some marigold flowers and crush them to form a paste. Apply this paste on the wound to get good results.

7. Vinegar is known to have astringent properties and can be used to treat abrasions. Take one part of vinegar and then dilute it with three parts of water. Now take a cotton ball and soak it with this solution. Apply this cotton on the affected region. This will cleanse the wound and help in healing process.

8. Consume sunflower seeds, lean beer, peanuts and roasted pumpkin. Drink plenty of water every day to maintain moisture in your skin which can be quite beneficial in the healing process.

9. You can even try tea tree oil to cure abrasions. Tea tree oil works as an anti-septic and can be very useful in preventing infections. Applying it directly on your wound will sure prove to be beneficial.

10. Take some tea leaves and boil them in water. Allow this mixture to cool down and later rinse your wound with this mixture. This will prevent infections and will thwart bacterial growth.
