Acid Reflux is also known as Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It is basically caused by the backward flow of the hydrochloric acid from stomach towards esophagus. It makes you feel uncomfortable with nausea, bloating up, gas, shortness of breath and sour taste in the mouth. Some of the common causes of acid reflux are; stress, smoking, alcohol, drinking carbonated beverages, antidepressants, sedatives, eating large meals, fried food and diseases which weaken esophageal muscle.
Apple cider vinegar is one of the amazing home remedies for this problem. Just add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to half glass of water and drink it. Drinking a glass of milk is also beneficial in treating acid reflux or you can even drink water which will dilute the acids in stomach. Chewing almonds either in the morning or after meals is a miracle treatment.
Ginger root is a natural herb which is known to absorb stomach acid and calms the nerves. Chewing half teaspoon of Fennel seeds slowly after the meals is one of the effective remedy. This fennel seed is a powerful herb which helps in digestive conditions.
Chewing gums are also one of the most effective home remedies for this problem. All you have to do is chew sugarless gum after meals for almost thirty minutes. It will stimulate the production of saliva which will dilute the content of stomach and will help to wash down anything from esophagus into the stomach.
Aloe Vera juice is one of the best home remedies. Amla is also good for acid reflux problems. Take two tablespoons of amla juice and mix with sugar candy powder in equal amounts in water, now drink this solution. Drinking raw coconut milk is also a good option in treating this problem. Papaya enzyme pills help in ending acid reflux symptoms as well as eating an apple after meals alleviate acid reflux.
In order to completely remove acid reflux, take black pepper powder and mix rock salt to taste and then after meals in morning and evening, take half tsp with water. To prevent this problem you should eat lot of vegetables, yogurt, and fish oils. Try to avoid bleached and spicy foods like gravies, dips and sauce. Do not drink alcohol or coffee and quit smoking, also stop consuming chocolates, soda and citrus foods. Always sleep on the left side. These home remedies are cost effective and easy to follow.
