Decline of hemoglobin content or number of red blood cells from the blood causes anemia. There are certain factors which can cause anemia such as menstruation, iron deficiency, bleeding, hemolysis, lactation, pregnancy, piles, hiatus hernia, peptic ulcer, hookworm infestation and insufficient production of red blood cells. 1. One of the simplest home remedies for anemia is to eat food cooked in iron pots or utensils. This will increase the iron content in your body.

2. Apple is considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for anemia. It is a rich source of iron and consuming it on daily basis will definitely raise the level of iron in your body. But remember not to peel it.

3. Other food sources rich in iron are lean pork, shellfish, liver, fish, lean beef, kidney, organ meats, spinach, green peas, collards, nuts, figs, raisins, prunes, dates, broccoli, chard, skinned poultry, egg yolks, peanut butter, dried apricots, dried peaches and whole grain breads.

4. Eating bananas on regular basis can prove to be very helpful in treating anemia. You can even try consuming mashed bananas mixed with honey.

5. Take some apple juice and beet root juice. Now mix them in equal quantities and add little sugar in it. Drinking this mixture every day will prove to be quite helpful in treating anemia.

6. Soya bean is a rich source of protein as well as iron. Consuming soya bean milk every day will help in digestion and will supply the body with essential iron.

7. Try to avoid consumption of tea or coffee as they can interfere with the process of iron absorption in the body.

8. Make it a habit to take sunbaths every day. Sunlight is known to stimulate red blood cells production which can be very helpful in treating anemia.

9. Vitamin C helps in absorption of iron. Consuming couple or oranges on daily basis will prove to be quite helpful in curing anemia.

10. Take six to eight almonds and soak them in water for the whole night. Next morning peel their skin and eat the almonds. This is a very useful natural remedy for anemia and daily consumption of almonds will give you best results.

11. Consuming fenugreek on daily basis is quite beneficial in treating anemia. It is very helpful to girls during the time of menstruation.

12. Cold water baths can be of great help in treating anemia. All you need to do is take cold water baths twice daily for better results.
