Anxiety is a psychological problem which has become quite common these days. Doubts, phobia and fears can lead to panic attacks. Some common symptoms of anxiety are muscle tension, sense of impending doom, heart palpitations, inability to concentrate, dry mouth, sweating, queasy and hyperventilation. There are many useful home remedies for anxiety which can be practiced safely at home.

One of the oldest and most popular home remedies for anxiety is the tea. It helps in reducing tension as well as calms your mind, body and soul. Lavender, thyme, chamomile, cloves and orange blossoms are some of the common forms of teas which can help reduce anxiety.

You can even try having a conversation with your parents, brother, sister or best friend whenever you feel anxiety. This will calm you down as well as make you feel better. Try to read something interesting in order to relieve tension which may cause anxiety.

Taking a relaxing bath with some soothing music has always been a good option and is one of the effective home remedies for anxiety.

Hydrotherapy is one of the efficient remedies for anxiety. It is also known by the name of water therapy which involves the use of water in different forms (hot, cold, icy or steamy) to give relief from the discomfort of anxiety.

Exercise is considered to be one of the best home remedies for anxiety. It removes endorphins from your body. You can take a walk or do some basic exercises or you can even try breathing exercises like pranayam in yoga. Make this a daily routine and you will see the changes.

Bring a little change in your lifestyle. Avoid alcohol and caffeine since they can make your condition worse. Aromatherapy is also one of the effective home remedies for anxiety. Smelling scented candles or baby powder can help you relax. You can even try other great scents such as geranium, sweet marjoram, bergamot, lemon, lavender and sandalwood.

Calcium, magnesium and B-complex supplements can really help in reducing anxiety. Have a diet rich in whole grains and take food with low sugar levels. Or you can even try artificial sweeteners such as Equal, Splenda and Nutrisweet.

Try to meditate for twenty minutes every morning and evening. It will definitely help you relax from all kinds of stress. Make it a habit of taking proper sleep everyday. Almond is also one of the effective home remedies for anxiety. All you need to do is soak ten almonds in water and leave it ove
ight. Now peel the skin and blend these almonds with nutmeg, pinch of ginger and a cup of warm milk. Drink this mixture every night.

To slow down your racing heart caused by anxiety and stress, it is always beneficial to drink a glass of orange juice mixed with honey (one teaspoon) and nutmeg. Rosemary is also one of the good home remedies for anxiety. Just add rosemary (one or two teaspoons) into a cup of boiling water. Now drink this solution it will definitely help you.
