Home Remedies For Dry Skin That Are Simple To Use and Effective

Dry skin is one of the most common skin related problems. Dry skin can be caused due to skin problems, environmental factors, nutrient deficiencies and less supply of oil by the oil glands to the skin. Some common symptoms of dry skin may include feeling of tight skin, dull or dehydrated look, rough appearance of the skin, scaly and flaky skin, redness of the skin, itchy skin and wrinkles and cracks.

Home Remedies

There are several home remedies for dry skin which are simple to follow and easy to use. Some of the popular home remedies for dry skin are:

1. One of the most effective home remedies for dry skin is the use of cucumber. Cucumber is rich in water and is very helpful in moisturizing the skin. Grate a cucumber and apply it on dry skin. Wait for thirty minutes.

2. Take papaya, banana and avocado together and make them into a paste. Now apply this paste on the affected area and wait for fifteen minutes until the paste becomes dry. Now rinse your face with warm water. This is one of the most efficient home remedies for cracks.

3. Take an egg and separate yolk from it. Now take one teaspoon each of lime juice, orange juice, rose water and olive oil and mix them properly with this yolk. Apply this mixture on your face and wait for next twenty minutes. Later wash it off with water.

4. Natural herbs such as chamomile, peppermint, dandelion, borage, calendula and marshmallow are very effective in treating wrinkles and cracks. All you need to do is take one teaspoon of any of these herbs and add to one cup of boiling water. Cover and leave this mixture for five minutes. Drink this herbal tea.

5. Take one tablespoon of rose water and mix half tablespoon of honey in it. Apply this mixture to the affected area. This will be very beneficial in toning and cleaning of the skin and will make your skin glow.

6. Oatmeal is known to have rejuvenating properties. It is known to contain enzymes which are very helpful in soothing the skin. You can mix them both and then apply on your flaky skin.

7. Take one teaspoon of raw honey and one teaspoon of green clay powder. Mix them together and apply on your face. Remember to keep it away from the eye region. Wait for fifteen to twenty minutes and then wash your face with warm water.

8. Reduce the temperature of your bath water and try to reduce the amount of time you spend while taking bath. This will prevent the removal of natural oil from the skin. Remember not to take bath for more than fifteen minutes.

9. Take a warm glass of milk and add two teaspoons of almond oil in it. Drink this milk just before going to bed. Try to make this a daily habit in order to get good results.

The above mentioned home remedies for dry skin are some of the most popular home remedies for cracked and itchy skin which are simple to use and safe to try at home without any side effects.
