A highly contagious viral infection which is caused by herpes simplex virus is known as herpes. It can be caused due to certain factors such as kissing, sexual intercourse, sharing eating utensils, stress, pregnancy, fatigue, cosmetic surgery and hormonal imbalance. Some of the common symptoms of herpes are swollen glands, fever, flu like symptoms and painful sores.

1. One of the simplest remedies for herpes is to use ice cube on the affected area. All you have to do is take an ice cube and then rub it on the affected region of your body for few minutes. This home remedy will give you an instant relief from its symptoms.

2. Another effective home remedy is to keep a proper hygiene. Keep your body clean and scrub your finge
ails on daily basis. Also try to keep your hands away from the sores and do not touch them at any cost.

3. Epsom salts can also be used to treat herpes. All you have to do is add Epsom salts on your bath water and then soak your body in it. This is one of the most effective home remedies for herpes.

4. Black tea leaf is also another effective natural remedy for herpes. It is known to have antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Just take some used black tea bags and place it on the affected area for five minutes. Repeat this process two to three times in a day on daily basis.

5. Mix goldenseal powder, Echinacea powder and walnut powder and mix them together with water to form a paste. Apply this paste on the affected area on regular basis for better results.

6. Cornstarch is also very effective in treating herpes. Take a cotton ball and soak it in cornstarch. Now use this cotton ball to dab on the affected region of your body. This will provide immediate relief from the symptoms of herpes.

7. Wear loose clothes to avoid friction. It will also help your skin to breathe.

8. Aloe vera can also be very beneficial in treating herpes. All you have to do is cut an aloe vera leaf and then collect some of its extract and then apply it on the affected region of your body. This will give you relief from the itch and will help in the healing process. Make it a daily habit to practice this home remedy for better results.

9. Avoid consumption of soft drinks, chocolates, refined food items, alcohol, smoking and sugar as they can make your condition worse.

10. Consume lots of fruits and leafy vegetables and increase the consumption of food rich in iron, vitamins and zinc.
