Many people suffer from knee pain and it is quite common in older people. There are certain factors which can cause knee pain such as kneecap dislocation, fracture of patella, hamstring rupture, patella tendon rupture, bursitis, chondromalacia, tendinitis, Baker's cyst and many more. Some of the common symptoms of knee pain are unable to straighten up your knees, stiffness, popping noises, redness and many more.

Home Remedies

There are several home remedies for knee pain which are simple to use and are quite safe to try at home without any risk of side effect. Some of the popular home remedies for knee pain which are being used since a very long time and have proved to be quite effective in many cases are:

1. One of the most effective home remedies for knee pain is to take walks on regular basis. Start slowly and increase the duration of your walks. But remember not to overdo it. Stop immediately if there is severe pain.

2. Cold compresses are considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for knee pain. All you have to do is wrap a towel with ice cubes in it. Now use this towel as a cold compress on the affected knee. This will numb the area and will give you instant relief from the pain.

3. Take some goat's milk or ghee. Now add some castor, wheat and turmeric in it. Mix well and then heat this mixture to make it warm. Applying this warm mixture on the affected knee will prove to be very helpful in treating the pain in knee.

4. Wear comfortable footwear which helps in making it easy for you to walk.

5. Wintergreen herb is also very helpful in curing knee pain. You can use its oil extract on the affected knee. This will calm the dilated blood vessels and will give relief from the pain. You can use this oil on regular basis for better results.

6. Take some mustard oil and then soak some fenugreek seeds in it. Later you can apply these soaked fenugreek seeds on the affected knee. This will warm your knees and will increase blood circulation. Regular use of this home remedy will improve health and lubrication of cartilages which will treat this ailment.

7. Consume plenty of water every day to keep your body hydrated. This will help in allowing the muscles in the joints to remain soft which will help in retaining the elasticity of the cartilaginous tissue. As a result of which the joint bones will not grind against each other and there will be no pain.

8. Take some olive oil and heat it until its warm enough. Now massage the affected knee with this warm olive oil for five to ten minutes. This will give a soothing effect and will reduce pain. You can use this home remedy two to three times every day for better results.

9. Consume foods such as tuna, oranges, soybean, garlic, ginger, rosemary, oregano, onions, spinach and apples on regular basis.

These are some of the most effective home remedies for knee pain which are simple, cheap and safe to use.
