Home Remedies For Nail Discoloration That Give Amazing Results

Change in the natural color of your nails due to fungal infection or disease is known as nail discoloration. There are certain factors which can cause nail discoloration such as age, poor hygiene, attire, perspiration, health conditions, environmental factors, infections and staying barefoot. Some of the common symptoms of nail discoloration are burning, odor, pain itching and change in color of the nail.

Home Remedies

There are several remedies for nail discoloration which are simple to use and are quite safe to try at home without any risk of side effects. Some of the popular home remedies for nail discoloration which are being used since a very long time and have proved to be quite effective in many cases are:

1. One of the most effective remedies for nail discoloration is the use of tea tree oil. All you need to do is to soak your feet in the mixture of tea tree oil and water. Regular usage of this home remedy will help in curing nail discoloration.

2. Vinegar is considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for this problem. All you need to do is take a bowl filled with vinegar and then soak the affected parts of your fingers or toes in it two to three times on daily basis.

3. Take some water and mix lots of salt in it. Now soak the discolored nails in this salt water and then use a brush to gently scrub your nails. Regular practice of this home remedy will remove the discoloration and will make your nails appear bright.

4. Mouthwash is also very beneficial in treating nail discoloration. Mix mouthwash with water and then soak the affected area in this mixture. Wait for twenty minutes. Use this remedy on regular basis for better results.

5. Take some alcohol and soak your nails in it. Wait for ten to fifteen minutes and then wash with water. Later use a moisturizer on your nails.

6. Vapor rub can also prove to be very effective in curing nail discoloration. All you have to do is apply vapor rub on the cuticle and nails two times in a day.

7. Lemon juice is also equally beneficial in treating this problem. Take a lemon and cut it into two halves. Now rub the lemon slice on your nails. Or you can even try using a cotton ball soaked in lemon juice.

8. Another wonderful home remedy is to use denture tablets. All you have to do is take some denture tablets and then dissolve them in water. Now soak your finge
ails in it and wait for ten to fifteen minutes. Regular usage of this home remedy will prove to be very helpful.

9. Honey is known to have anti-fungal properties and is very helpful in preventing further growth of fungus. Just apply honey on the affected area every day and you will soon see its effects.

The above mentioned remedies for this problem are some of the most popular remedies which are quite effective. These natural remedies are simple to try and are cost-effective.
