1. One of the effective home remedies for quit smoking is to use lobelia and ginger. This will help in reducing anxiety and prevent nausea. Ginger helps in producing perspiration which can help in shedding toxins generated from smoke.
2. Oat straw is also one of the effective home remedies for quit smoking. It is known to have substances which help in increasing the peripheral blood flow in the body. Withdrawal caused by smoking addiction can be controlled by this method. You can take oat straw as a liquid extract or in the form of tea.
3. St John's wort is a very powerful tonic. It is very beneficial for the nervous system. St John's Wort can be used to deal with the symptoms of anxiety, depression and nervousness.
4. Lobelia can be used as a substitute for nicotine by those who are going through withdrawal symptoms. Consult your physician before using it because it is a toxic herb.
5. Valerian can be used to improve sleep patterns and to promote feeling of calmness. It can be mixed with lemon balm and St John's wort and then used as an antidepressant to combat anxiety and fear.
6. Whenever you feel like smoking you can try chewing chopped dried root of sweet flag (acorus calamus) slowly. Spit it out after few minutes. 8. Oats are very helpful in reducing the number of cigarettes and eliminating tobacco craving.
9. Cayenne is an antioxidant which is very helpful in preventing damage by stabilizing lung membranes and desensitizing respiratory linings to chemical irritants and tobacco. It has a warm peppery taste which helps in reducing the cravings.
10. Lobelia contains alkaloids which are very similar to those present in nicotine. It is very helpful in relieving withdrawal, poor concentration, irritability and hunger. It creates nicotine like effects without causing any damage.
11. Mix one part of hop cones and mix it with four parts of vodka. Now take one tablespoon of water and dissolve five to seven drops in it. Consume this mixture twice daily to benefit from it.
12. Boil two glasses of water and add one tablespoon of eucalyptus leaves. Wait for almost an hour for this mixture to cool down. Now filter it and add one tablespoon of glycerin and one tablespoon of honey. Drink 50 ml of this solution for three to four weeks, five to seven times in a day.
