Skin irritation is a common dermatological problem these days. There are so many chemical based products we use every day that it is quite natural that many of us may not recognize which one of them is skin irritant but, fortunately the home remedies for skin irritation are there to prevent us from the agony of the allergy. Moreover, the skin irritation is commonly known as skin allergy which occurs when the skin comes in contact with certain substances that cause irritation, for instance skin may be allergic towards dyed clothes.

There are many substances that may lead to this dermatological problem. Firstly, chemicals are the most common cause for occurrence of this problem. Moreover, there are many chemical based substances that we use in our daily life which may irritate the skin, for instance detergents. Secondly, certain plants or flowers are another prime cause for this problem. Thirdly, low level of humidity may lead to this problem. Moreover, the skin gets irritated when there is extreme heat but, there is nothing to alleviate the heat, due to which the skin loses its moisture, and home remedies may help the skin to retain its lost moisture.

Whenever a person comes in contact with the irritants he may suffer from few symptoms. Firstly, redness is the prime symptom of the irritation. Moreover, reaction with irritant may redden the affected area. Secondly, a person may suffer from recurrent urges to itch the affected area. The home remedies for skin irritation may help to relieve the itching. Thirdly, the pain may arise when irritants affect a particular area. But, the home remedies for skin irritation is very effective in elimination of irritants. Some effective home remedies are mentioned ahead which may alleviate the agony of this dermatological problem.

1. Nettle - It is an anti-allergic herb, and anti-histamine. Histamine is a chemical that our body produces to fight the allergens. But, this herb can relieve the agonizing fight between antibodies and allergens. Intake of nettle tea is one of the most popular home remedies for skin irritation.

2. Quercetin - It is another anti-histamine herb that helps the body to relieve the symptoms of allergy. In addition, its anti-inflammatory properties are also helpful to prevent the pain of allergy.

3. Butterbur - This is an effective anti-inflammatory herb that may help to reduce the recurrent attacks of pain.

4. Astralagus - This herb is useful in strengthening the immune system. In addition, it is rich in anti-oxidants. Moreover, it protects the cells from getting damaged. Astralagus is the most effective herb which is used in various home remedies for skin irritation.

To summarize, the herbs mentioned above are popularly used in various home remedies for skin irritation due to their effectiveness against irritants. In addition, these herbs are also effective in relieving the symptoms of allergy. But, it is very necessary to identify the reason of the allergy which will help to prevent the recurrent attacks of the irritants. In case you have to use such products that are causing allergy, it is advised to cover the area in order to prevent the contact of the allergens with skin.
