The cause of these skin tags are unknown but skin tags on groin, genitals and anus can be really very uncomfortable. Some common places of their occurrence are folds of the skin, base of the neck, under the breasts, eyelids and behind the knees. Skin tags can happen to both men and women.
Home Remedies
There are several home remedies for benign skin growths which are simple to follow and easy to use. Some of the popular home remedies for skin tags are:
1. One of the simplest home remedies for skin tags is the use of clear nail polish. All you need to do is apply nail polish on the entire tag area twice daily until it shrinks in size. But remember not to use this method on anal skin tags, genital benign skin growths and area near eyes.
2. Blood root is also considered to be one of the effective home remedies for benign skin growths. Just form a poultice out of blood root and apply it on the affected area. Cover this area with bandage for few days. This method is very helpful in removing benign skin growths.
3. We all are familiar with band aid. You can try putting band aid on the affected area and remove it after few days. This has proved to be helpful in removing benign skin growths in many cases.
4. Another effective home remedy is to tie the tag with a string to stop blood supply to it. This will cause the tag to turn black and later will fall off.
5. Apple cider vinegar is also helpful in treating skin tags. All you need to do is soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and then apply it on the tag. Repeat this process on daily basis until the tag turns dark and falls off. Remember not to use this method on anal skin tag and area close to eyes.
6. Tea tree oil can also be very beneficial in treating benign skin growths. All you need to do is soak a cotton ball in tea tree oil and dab it on the affected area. Repeat this process on regular intervals in order to get rid of benign skin growths.
7. You can even try applying a pack of comfrey, aloe vera, blood root and extract of black walnut on the skin tag. Use a bandage to cover it until the tag falls off.
8. Try to reduce consumption of foods rich in carbohydrates such as pasta, rice, sugar, bread and white potatoes.
9. You can try using black salve which is a compound known to contain herbs such as graviola, blood root, red clover, burdock root, and chaparral and zinc mineral salts. All you need to do is apply this cream on the affected area. With one or two applications you will get rid of benign skin growths.
