Home Remedies For Sore Nipples That Provide Long Term Relief

There are several home remedies which are simple to use and are quite safe to try at home. Some of the popular home remedies for sore nipples which are being used since a very long time and have proved to be quite effective in many cases are:
1. One of the most effective home remedies is to use saline soaks. All you need to do is add one teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Now soak your nipples in this water and wait for ten minutes. Later allow your nipples to dry.
2. Breast milk is also considered to be one of the most efficient home remedies for sore nipples. All you need to do is apply breast milk on the nipples and leave it to dry.
3. In order to get relief from swelling you can use cool compresses. Just take some ice cubes and wrap them in a towel. Now apply this cold compress on the nipples for the next ten minutes. Regular use of this home remedy can prove to be quite beneficial in treating this problem. This is one of the most efficient home remedies for treating this problem.
4. Aloe vera gel is also very effective in treating this problem. All you need to do is cut an aloe vera leaf and extract its gel. Now apply this gel on the cracked or sore nipples. This will prove to be quite effective in healing the symptoms of this problem.
5. Make it a daily habit to change bras and wear clean bras only. Remember to use mild detergents only to wash your bras as chemicals present in strong detergents can cause irritation and can later cause sore nipples.
6. Chamomile tea bags can be used to treat sore nipples. All you have to do is take some chamomile tea bags and then allow them to steep in hot water. Take them out and allow to cool down a little bit. Squeeze the excess of water from them and apply on your nipples. This will give you relief from the symptoms of this problem.
7. Just before feeding your baby, take a towel and soak it in warm water. Squeeze the towel and place it on your nipples and wait for fifteen minutes. Make this a daily practice which will prove to be very helpful in treating sore nipples.
8. Rubbing alcohol is also equally beneficial in treating this problem. Use a sponge to apply rubbing alcohol on your nipples and later wash with water.
