Home Remedies For Throat Irritation, Effective Natural Treatment

Throat irritation can cause people to have a hard time swallowing their food or water. It can be caused due to many factors such as; infection, acid reflux, certain medications, singing, shouting, coughing, allergies, dryness in mouth, fever, smoking, flu, cold and other factors.
Symptoms of throat irritation may include; pain in throat while swallowing, cracked voice while speaking, constant tickle in throat and cough, swallowing saliva more frequently, fever, greenish phlegm and ear pain.
Home Remedies
There are several home remedies for throat irritation which are simple to use and easy to follow. Some of the common home remedies are:
1. One of the easiest home remedies for this irritation is to avoid drinking cold water and instead drink lukewarm water.
2. Try to consume hot fluids such as tea, soups and broths. They can be very beneficial in making your throat recover faster.
3. Another efficient home remedy for throat irritation is to gargle with hot salt water. This will give you relief from pain and soothe your throat.
4. Boil some milk with a pinch of salt and half teaspoon of turmeric powder. Allow this milk to cool down a bit and then consume it before going to bed every night. This is one of the efficient home remedies for throat irritation.
5. Apple cider vinegar is also very effective home remedy. You can mix apple cider vinegar and honey in equal parts in a glass of warm water and drink it.
6. Increase the intake of water. This will relieve you from throat irritation within one or two days. Keep your body hydrated by drinking eight to ten glasses of water daily. This will reduce the dryness of throat and give you relief.
7. Vitamin C is very helpful in fighting infections caused due to viruses and bacteria. Add vitami
C in your diet by consuming orange juice. Just squeeze some fresh orange juice and make it dilute by adding equal amount of water to it. Now drink this juice.
8. Smoking and alcohol consumption can cause irritation in throat. Therefore it is better to cut down on these habits.
9. Take a lemon and boil it in water. Then allow this lemon to cool down. Now squeeze this lemon and collect its juice in a bowl and add some honey to it. Consume one teaspoon of this mixture after every three hours.
10. Dry air in room can also cause irritation in throat. Therefore it is always a good idea to humidify the room.
11. Try to avoid fumes from paints, chemicals and volatile liquids, as they can cause irritation in throat.
12. Try to suck on some medicated lozenges. This help to soothe your throat.
13. Tamarind is also one of the major home remedies for throat irritation. Gargle with some tamarind water. This will give you relief and can be very effective in treating throat irritation.
14. Liquorice can also help in soothing inflammation quickly. Just chew or suck a small piece of raw liquorice.
15. Throat irritation caused due to cold can be treated by using cinnamon. Take one teaspoon of powdered cinnamon, two teaspoons of honey and a pinch of pepper powder. Now add them to boiling water (one glass). Allow it to cool and then drink this solution.
