Recently HCG and HCG Diet plans have gotten a lot of publicity. But who really knows what HCG is?

Found during pregnancy, HCG (Human Chorionic Gonatropin) is a hormone responsible for allowing the body to metabolize body fat so that it can be used as needed energy. Dr. ATW Simeons first discovered the use of HCG for weight-loss in 1951, but it has been commonly used in medicine since the 1930's. Who knew?

HCG is not one of those crazy fad diets.

The reason it is not a fad diet is that people have been using it for weight-loss for 60 years. Additionally HCG is often used in the treatment of other conditions, and has been considered a safe and effective approach.

What does HCG do?

HCG causes the body to metabolize calories that have been stored as fat. HCG stimulates the hypothalamus to convert fat into a form from which it can be used for energy, effectively releasing all those extra calories taken in years ago for use as fuel.

Where did the HCG diet come from?

Dr. ATW Simeons did extensive training in endocrinology, and is responsible for some of the most groundbreaking discoveries conce
ing the nature of obesity. Dr. Simeons discovered that when patients were fed a calorie-restricted diet while receiving low doses of HCG, they would metabolize fat rather than muscle tissue.
Why is the Official HCG diet in drops?

HCG drops are cheaper, more convenient than, and just as effective as HCG injections while possessing the added benefit of coming sans-needle..(i.e no shots.)
